Suva Futsal Triumphs in Thrilling 3-2 Victory!

Suva Futsal triumphed over a determined Nadi Futsal team with a score of 3-2 to claim the Extra Supermarket Fiji National Futsal title for 2024 at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa yesterday. Rajneel Singh, donning the number three jersey, opened the scoring for Suva, putting them ahead at halftime.

Following the break, both teams engaged in a fierce battle for the win, with Singh scoring again to give Suva a 2-0 lead. As the match drew to a close, Nadi found the net, narrowing the gap to 2-1. They then equalized thanks to Mohammed Shameem, who skillfully placed the ball into the goal.

However, Suva’s Filipe Baravilala quickly responded by scoring the decisive goal, bringing the final score to 3-2. Suva’s coach, Vivek Nadan, expressed his gratitude for the victory, discussing the team’s preparation for the final match. He noted, “We came into the competition confident that we will retain the title. It certainly wasn’t easy with the weather and the slippery court, but the boys stuck to the game plan and delivered us the victory.”

This victory also secures Suva’s spot in next year’s OFC Men’s Futsal Champions League.
