Host Suva is focusing on improving its finishing ahead of the semifinals of the 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants. The Whites managed to score only one goal during their three group matches, which came from a penalty scored by Dave Radrigai.
Captain Akuila Mateisuva emphasized the need to start scoring goals as matches cannot be won without them. “Our campaign has been good in the BOG, but we need to score goals to win matches. The semifinal will be a different ball game altogether, and we will work on improving in the weak areas.”
“We have good finishers in the team and just need to get them connected to get the goals,” Mateisuva said. “Our defense and midfield have also been functioning well, and we hope to stay consistent in the semifinals.”
Flick Hygiene Suva will face Smart and Efficient Security/Calgary Nadi in the second semifinal at 4:30 p.m.
