Suva Faces Injury Crisis Ahead of Crucial Match

Suva is facing challenges with player injuries as they prepare for their final pool match against Taveuni in the primary schools inter-district competition taking place in Labasa. Coach Mohammed Hussain acknowledged the importance of having a reliable second goalkeeper to boost their chances of victory in the upcoming game.

“Our goalkeeper is injured,” Hussain stated.

Despite the challenges, Hussain remains optimistic that the team will make it to the finals. “We will come back stronger in our next game against Taveuni,” he asserted.

In a recent interview, he emphasized the need to improve their defense, which he identified as a weakness highlighted in their recent matches during the competition. “We will go back to the drawing board to analyze our last games and identify areas to address our mistakes,” he explained.

Hussain also noted that the shifting weather patterns have impacted the team’s performance. “The boys are trying to adapt to the Babasiga heat.”

In their previous match against Navua, Suva managed a narrow 1-0 victory and played to a 1-1 draw against Labasa.
