Suva 1 Aims for Double Glory at Chow Games!

The athletics team from Suva 1 is focused on defending their title for boys while also aiming to secure the championship in the girls’ division at the upcoming national Chow Games. Recently, Suva 1 conducted an athletics meeting at the HFC Bank Stadium, attracting around 1,000 athletes from 14 participating schools.

The inclusion of two new institutions, Marist Convent Primary School and Suva Christian Community School, highlights the district’s expanding interest in athletics. Bill Momo, Suva 1’s head coach, expressed his pleasure with the rise in participation.

Momo stated, “Our target this year is to capture the girls’ title as well. There is a lot of work ahead, but with the support from athletic schools and coaches like Antonio Raboiliku, I am confident we can meet our mid-term and long-term objectives.”

He acknowledged the significant support from parents, teachers, and school administrators, emphasizing their role in Suva 1’s ongoing achievements. “We have been fortunate to have the support of our school leaders and parents, and our motto of togetherness is integral to both our athletes and teachers,” he added.

In the recent events, Suva Methodist Primary School emerged as the overall winner in the girls’ division, while Marist Brothers Primary School took the title in the boys’ division.
