A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of suspended schoolteacher Kishore Kumar, who is under investigation for allegedly claiming to possess explicit content related to Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua.
Kumar did not appear in court before Suva magistrate Jeremaia Savou this morning to respond to charges that include unauthorized access to computer systems and causing harm by posting inappropriate electronic communications. The allegations state that between May 1 and May 23 of the previous year, Kumar unlawfully accessed another user’s Facebook account and posted offensive comments targeting Minister Qereqeretabua.
The return date for the bench warrant is set for February 6 of the following year.
