Many people celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad through various activities and prayers at homes and mosques yesterday, while others took advantage of the public holiday for picnics at different spots across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal day for family outings.

Among the participants were members of the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church. Their day began with a service, followed by team-building activities, including a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of the church’s senior pastor Suresh Kumar, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and engagement in activities, stating, “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get-together.”

The group enjoyed a hearty lunch and participated in various games such as spoon races, apple and bun eating contests, duck races, and touch rugby, concluding the day with a swimming session.

At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, was also enjoying their day. According to father Kibae, the picnic was a perfect escape from the routines of school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki described the outing as a relaxing experience, stating, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school.”
