The University has announced that following a four-day strike, all staff members returned to work as of yesterday.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, by the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff (AUSPS) and the University of the South Pacific Staff Union (USPSU), striking staff members were instructed to resume their duties beginning Thursday, October 24, 2024.

However, the Unions emphasized that they would continue to advocate for a thorough and transparent investigation regarding Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

In the event that circumstances necessitate, the Unions expressed that they are prepared to initiate another strike on short notice.

The mandate for the strike remains effective until February 14, 2025.
