Strengthening Ties: Fiji and China Enhance Civil Service Training

A delegation from China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) visited the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) in Suva.

The Department of China-Aid Training manages all training programs provided by China, with AIBO overseeing their coordination.

Upon their arrival, Permanent Secretary Mr. Parmesh Chand expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its initiatives that have benefited thousands of public servants over the years. This year alone, over 100 Fijian public servants traveled to China for specialized training programs, and Chand noted that they returned equipped with valuable knowledge and skills to apply in their work.

Chand emphasized that the AIBO delegation’s visit has strengthened the training and human resource development relations between Fiji and China. He highlighted that the meeting allowed for knowledge sharing, exploration of collaborative opportunities, and exchange of ideas.

Civil servants who have participated in AIBO training also attended the meeting and shared how the program has contributed to their professional development.
