Strategic Shift: PM’s Chief Advisor Resigns After 30 Years

Pita Wise, the Government’s Chief Strategist, has resigned from his position as the Prime Minister’s Permanent Secretary, effective immediately. Luke Rokovada, the chair of the Public Service Commission, confirmed that Wise stepped down voluntarily due to personal reasons. Wise had been serving in the Office of the Prime Minister since January 2023 and has held the Permanent Secretary role in previous administrations as well. Rokovada noted that Wise had a distinguished career with the Government spanning over 30 years. He expressed gratitude for Wise’s significant contributions and commendable performance in his role, wishing him success in his future pursuits. The identity of Wise’s successor has not yet been announced.
