The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) has addressed the situation involving 40 individuals stranded on the Lomaiviti Princess II vessel. A video shared on Facebook revealed that the vessel ran aground after hitting a reef. MSAF CEO Joeli Cawaki informed media that a ship had been dispatched to help both the passengers and the stranded vessel. “Currently, the new shipping boat is attempting to free them,” Mr. Cawaki explained. He noted that if the operation is unsuccessful, the passengers will be moved to the Saint Mary, which will take them to Levuka.
