The World Bank has established a new role within their organization in Fiji, appointing Stefano Mocci as the World Bank Group Country Manager for Fiji.
This new position aims to serve as a comprehensive access point for the full range of World Bank Group products and services. It is expected to enhance the institution’s capability to tackle global challenges and drive development with greater speed, efficiency, and impact.
Stefano Mocci has previously held several positions within the World Bank Group, including World Bank Country Manager for the South Pacific and World Bank Country Manager for Papua New Guinea.
Mocci expressed commitment to the unified leadership approach that the new role signifies. He emphasized that this strategy will enable better support for Fiji’s public and private sectors, ultimately serving the people of Fiji more effectively.
He noted that unified leadership within the World Bank Group will enhance their ability to respond swiftly and become a more reliable partner to the government, the private sector, and the public they serve.
