As the festive season approaches, the Fiji Police Force is launching a national operation aimed at enhancing public safety. Starting Friday, the police will increase their presence across various locations to ensure that everyone can enjoy the celebrations safely.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized the importance of individual safety during this time. He urged citizens to remain vigilant while traveling, shopping, picnicking by the sea or rivers, and enjoying gatherings with friends. “Safety starts with each individual,” ACP Driu stated, highlighting the collective responsibility in maintaining safety during the festivities.
In collaboration with local stakeholders, the police will monitor road traffic and public areas closely. “We strive for an incident-free festive season and appeal to the community for their support,” stressed ACP Driu. He noted that maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility, and police efforts will be bolstered in towns, cities, and popular gathering spots, including schools and business areas.
This proactive approach by the Fiji Police Force not only aims to prevent incidents but also fosters a sense of community involvement in public safety. By working together, citizens can contribute to a joyous and safe festive season for everyone.
This year’s festive season mirrors a commitment to safety and solidarity, with the hopes of creating a positive environment where families and friends can celebrate without worry. With an increased police presence and community engagement, there is a strong belief that everyone can enjoy the holiday merriment safely.
