The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO), Livai Driu, has issued a serious warning to individuals making threats on social media, urging calm as the police conduct their duties. He highlighted the heightened emotions surrounding the situation and called for all involved parties to stay composed, stating that taking matters into their own hands would only escalate tensions.
ACP Driu confirmed that the police have started to apprehend suspects, revealing that one of the bouncers involved has already been detained. He shared that last night, police successfully took one individual into custody.
A team from the Totogo Police Station has been actively collecting statements from witnesses and individuals in Namatakula Village. ACP Driu urged everyone involved to cooperate fully with the investigation by providing any relevant statements and evidence.
He also stressed the importance of patience, encouraging the public to allow the police to carry out a thorough investigation. “We are monitoring social media activity and will remain vigilant to prevent any unlawful actions,” he assured.
As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu reassured the public of the police’s commitment to maintaining safety and security for everyone.
This situation highlights the vital role of law enforcement in managing public safety and maintaining order. It serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation during times of tension, ultimately contributing to a safer environment for all.
