State Lease Arrears Get 12-Month Interest Waiver: What You Need to Know!

The Cabinet has granted a 12-month waiver of interest on state lease arrears, which will be effective from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. During this waiver period, lessees are required to pay off their rent arrears in full without incurring any accumulated interest on these amounts. This is the fourth instance of such a waiver, with previous ones occurring from 2014 to 2016, in 2018, and from 2020 to 2021.
