Saint Mary’s Primary School has triumphed once again at the Labasa Primary School Athletics Competition, successfully defending its title for the second consecutive year. The school showcased an impressive performance, securing 30 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
In second place was Labasa Primary School, which achieved 13 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Holy Family Primary School rounded out the top three, finishing with 11 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.
Ratu Josateki Drevakarua, an athlete from the winning team, expressed his gratitude for the competition, stating, “We give thanks and honour to the Almighty for giving us the strength to defend our title.” He acknowledged the challenges faced during the two-day event but emphasized that the unwavering support from their coach, teachers, and parents played a crucial role in their success.
The event hosted 18 participating schools over its three-day duration, highlighting the vibrant spirit of competition and teamwork in the local education community.
