Saint Mary’s Primary School has once again secured the top spot at the Labasa Primary School Athletics Competition, successfully defending their title with an impressive haul of 30 gold, 17 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This victory marks a remarkable achievement for the school, as it celebrates its second consecutive triumph in the competition.
In the overall standings, Labasa Primary School came in second place with 13 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Holy Family Primary School claimed the third position with 11 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.
Ratu Josateki Drevakarua, an athlete from the winning school, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the athletics competition. He credited their success to divine support, stating, “We give thanks and honour to the Almighty for giving us the strength in order to defend our title.” Drevakarua acknowledged the hard work and challenges faced during the preparations for the intense two-day competition, emphasizing that their victory would not have been possible without the unwavering support from their coach, teachers, and parents.
The competition brought together 18 schools over three days, showcasing the talent and dedication of young athletes in the region.
