Former students of St Anne’s Primary School gathered in Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary. The alumni organized a week-long series of events to commemorate the school’s legacy, featuring performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.

The school’s principal, Miliana Caginavanua, expressed gratitude for the participation of former scholars, highlighting that their involvement has brought together alumni, students, and parents in a spirit of unity and sisterhood.

“I want to extend my thanks to the old scholars for their willingness to contribute their expertise and for their promise to continue supporting us in the years ahead,” Ms. Caginavanua stated. “They have committed to providing ongoing assistance through financial contributions, administrative help, and by volunteering their time and skills.”

Alumni from different decades have donated resources to the school, including two laptops for teachers, curtains for the library, solar lights, and books.

Ms. Caginavanua noted that the preparations for the celebration were incorporated into the school curriculum, ensuring that all educational requirements were met prior to the event. She also acknowledged the vital role of the community’s support in the success of the celebration and future school initiatives.
