South Pacific Business Development (SPBD), a prominent player in Fiji’s microfinance sector, has relocated its Labasa office to a new spot along the main road of Labasa Town. This move is part of the organization’s strategy to enhance visibility and accessibility for its clients and stakeholders, as stated by SPBD Fiji’s managing director, Elrico Munoz.
“The new location will be more accessible for our customers, which is the primary reason for the move,” he explained. Munoz mentioned that approximately $2,000 was invested in the new Labasa office, which officially opened yesterday.
He noted that the team remains largely unchanged, consisting of three field officers, referred to as center managers, who will continue to visit various villages, alongside one back-office staff member. With the new location, SPBD Labasa anticipates an increase in outreach.
“This will translate to more business. In our previous location on the back road, few people would actually visit our office,” he added. The former SPBD office was situated on the back road of Sangam Avenue.
