South Pacific Business Development (SPBD), a significant player in Fiji’s microfinance sector, has relocated its Labasa branch to a new site along the main road in Labasa Town. This move is part of a strategic initiative to enhance visibility and accessibility for clients and stakeholders, according to Elrico Munoz, managing director of SPBD Fiji.
Munoz stated, “The new location will be more accessible for our customers, this is the main reason we moved.” The new Labasa office, which opened officially yesterday, required an investment of approximately $2000.
The team in Labasa remains unchanged, consisting of three field officers designated as center managers, who will visit various villages, along with one back-office staff member. Munoz expressed optimism that the relocation would boost outreach efforts: “This will mean more business. At the back road, nobody would really visit our office.” The former location of SPBD Labasa was situated on the back road of Sangam Avenue.
