Officers from the Southern Division swiftly intervened and detained two men believed to be connected to two separate robbery cases.
The Southern Division task force apprehended the first suspect after receiving reports of a robbery in Vatuwaqa. According to the report, several individuals had unlawfully taken a safe and various electronic items from a business situated in the Lalita Bhindi Sub-Division of Vatuwaqa. Police teams were alerted, leading to the prompt arrest of a suspect who was subsequently taken into custody.
In a second incident, a woman walking along Gaji Road was reportedly robbed late Saturday night. The victim pursued the suspect, and officers in the vicinity responded to the situation, resulting in the suspect’s capture. He was then taken into custody at the Raiwaqa Police Station.
Investigations into both robbery incidents are ongoing.
