FHTA CEO, Fantasha Lockington, praised SPCC’s admission, believing their expertise and passion for excellent coffee will bring great value by offering unrivaled learning opportunities for competition participants.

SPCC Director, Michael Dennis, expressed his pride in the partnership and his eagerness to contribute to Fiji’s hospitality sector expansion. “Our objective is to help baristas polish their skills and demonstrate the premium coffee the South Pacific has to offer. We anticipate an exciting, interactive competition,” he explained.

The barista contest planned for the HOTEC Tradeshow 2024, with initial rounds beginning in late July, allows baristas nationwide to compete, learn, and refine their craft. This culminates in the grand finals at the HOTEC Tradeshow.

SPCC will participate in numerous tradeshow activities, offering insights into coffee trends, techniques, and innovations, according to FHTA. Lockington affirmed the organization’s commitment to providing a platform for excellence and learning at HOTEC 2024. With SPCC’s support, she expressed confidence that their competitions would inspire higher industry standards, benefiting not only competitors but also the broader community.
