International sports star Sonny Bill Williams will be the honored chief guest at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion (SPBP) event today at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. He expressed that he understands the anxiety boxers experience before entering the ring.
“I have been in the same situation, and I know the nerves that come with it,” Williams stated, sharing his anticipation for the thrilling event. He conveyed his best wishes to all participating boxers and emphasized his belief that the event would be a sold-out success. “Thanks for letting me be here,” he added, extending his gratitude towards Mohammed Shameem, the director of South Pacific Boxing Promotion, for organizing the event.
Williams noted that the determination visible on the faces of the boxers indicated their readiness for fight night. He also mentioned his eagerness to see the Singh brothers, Sebastian Singh and Ubayd Haider (formerly known as Nathan Singh), in action.
During the weigh-in, Shameem reminded the boxers to be punctual for their scheduled fights.
