International sports star Sonny Bill Williams is set to be the chief guest at today’s South Pacific Boxing Promotion (SPBP) event at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Williams shared that he understands the emotions boxers experience before a match, stating, “I’ve been in the same situation, and I know the nerves that come with it.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the event, Williams noted that he anticipates an exciting atmosphere. He wished good luck to all the boxers participating and expressed gratitude for being part of the occasion. “I know it is going to be a sell-out, and thanks to Mohammed Shameem, the director of South Pacific Boxing Promotion, for organizing this event,” he said.
Williams observed that the readiness of the boxers was evident, especially as he looks forward to watching the Singh brothers, Sebastian Singh and Ubayd Haider (formerly Nathan Singh), compete. During the weigh-in, Shameem reminded the boxers of the importance of arriving on time for their respective bouts.
