Solomoni Nata Appointed as iTaukei Land Trust Board CEO after Successful Tenure as Interim CEO

Solomoni Nata has recently been named as the new CEO of the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB). This was formally announced by Ifereimi Vasu, the Chairman of the iTaukei Land Trust Board and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, following Mr. Nata’s successful stint as the board’s interim CEO for the past year.

During his time as interim CEO, Nata managed to achieve several significant milestones, such as the creation of the iTaukei Wealth Fund and the Land Development Facility. Both of these initiatives were aimed at providing substantial support to landowning units and promoting their economic prospects and sustainable growth.

In this time, the board saw marked improvements under Nata’s leadership. Vasu expressed confidence in Nata’s capability to drive the TLTB to greater heights, adhering to the board’s mandate more efficiently.

Nata’s work has significantly influenced reviews of laws and policies that affect the iTaukei people, fostering trust, and reinforcing relationships with chiefs and landowners. He also solidified the corporate structure, provided improved job security, and built management and staff capacity via extensive job assessments. Nata also spearheaded adopting new policies and expanding investment opportunities for landowners, among other notable achievements.

Under the board’s guidance, Nata will take on critical reforms aimed at rebranding iTLTB to better cater to landowning units and align more with the organization’s mission.

Nata’s tenure as CEO is set for two years, during which the board anticipates continued growth and positive impact under his leadership.
