The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has issued a crucial warning to individuals making threats on social media, urging them to remain calm and allow law enforcement to perform their duties effectively.

“Emotions are running high at the moment, and we ask all involved parties to maintain composure. Taking matters into your own hands will only exacerbate the situation,” emphasized ACP Driu.

He confirmed that the police have commenced the process of detaining suspects, with one bouncer already in custody. “Last night, we apprehended one individual, and he is being held by us,” ACP Driu stated.

A dedicated team from the Totogo Police Station is actively collecting statements from witnesses and everyone involved in the incident from Namatakula Village. “We urge all individuals involved to cooperate fully with the investigation by providing statements and any available evidence,” he noted.

Furthermore, ACP Driu highlighted the importance of patience during this time, encouraging the public to allow the police to conduct a thorough investigation. “We are closely monitoring social media activity and will remain vigilant to prevent any unlawful actions,” he added.

As the New Year draws near, ACP Driu reassured the community that the police remain committed to prioritizing safety and security for everyone.

This proactive approach from law enforcement not only demonstrates their commitment to public safety but also encourages a sense of community responsibility. By urging individuals to refrain from reacting impulsively, police are fostering a more collaborative environment that can lead to a more peaceful resolution of conflicts.

In summary, ACP Driu’s call for calm and cooperation serves as a vital reminder of the importance of trusting the authorities to handle sensitive situations effectively, paving the way for a safer community as we transition into a new year.
