Soap, Students, and a Healthier Future: A Call to Action!

A prominent manufacturer in the retail sector has emphasized the need for maintaining both personal and general hygiene as the flu season approaches.

The Punjas Group has contributed hundreds of soap bars to students, highlighting the crucial role of handwashing in promoting cleanliness and health.

Priya Kumar, the quality control manager at Ocean Soaps Limited, noted that for several years, the company has produced a range of soaps and established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility at its Navutu site in Lautoka, complying with stringent Australian certification standards.

She informed students that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are specifically designed to enhance personal hygiene and prevent the spread of germs through proper handwashing.

Kumar also mentioned that handwashing with soap plays a vital role in achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal, which aims to reduce child mortality rates for those under five years of age by two-thirds by 2015. She emphasized that instilling good hygiene habits in children can empower them to influence their communities by promoting the importance of using soap during handwashing.
