A major retail product manufacturer has emphasized the need for consistent personal and public hygiene as flu season approaches. The Punjas Group has donated hundreds of soap bars to students, highlighting the significance of handwashing for cleanliness and health.
Priya Kumar, the quality control manager of Ocean Soaps Limited, noted that the company has been producing a variety of soaps and has established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Navutu, Lautoka, which meets stringent Australian certification standards.
She informed the students that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are effective for enhancing personal hygiene and preventing the transmission of germs through proper handwashing.
Kumar pointed out that effective handwashing with soap could significantly contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal of reducing child mortality rates among those under five by two-thirds by 2015. She emphasized that instilling good habits in children can empower them to promote behaviors like soap usage for handwashing within their communities.
