Soap for Change: Boosting Hygiene Awareness as Flu Season Arrives

A prominent retail products manufacturer has issued an important reminder about the need for consistent personal and general hygiene as the flu season approaches. The Punjas Group has donated hundreds of soap bars to students, emphasizing the crucial role of handwashing in maintaining cleanliness and healthcare.

Priya Kumar, the group’s quality control manager, highlighted that Ocean Soaps Limited has been producing a variety of soaps for several years and has established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Navutu, Lautoka, which meets stringent Australian certification standards.

Kumar explained to the students that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are specifically designed to enhance personal hygiene and reduce the spread of germs through effective handwashing.

She noted that handwashing with soap plays a significant role in achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal, which aims to cut child mortality rates by two-thirds for those under five by 2015. “As good habits begin in childhood, children can lead the way in adopting practices like using soap for handwashing in their communities,” she stated.
