Soap and Health: A Clean Start this Flu Season

A prominent manufacturer of retail products has issued an important reminder emphasizing the need for consistent personal and general hygiene as the flu season begins. The Punjas Group has contributed hundreds of soap bars to students, highlighting the significance of handwashing in promoting cleanliness and health care.

Priya Kumar, the quality control manager for Ocean Soaps Limited, noted that the company has been producing a range of soaps for several years. They have established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility at their Navutu site in Lautoka, which complies with strict Australian certification standards.

Kumar informed students that the ingredients in the Bodyguard soap brand are particularly effective for enhancing personal hygiene and preventing germ transmission through proper handwashing. She emphasized that handwashing with soap plays a crucial role in achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals, specifically the aim of significantly decreasing the mortality rate of children under five years old by 2015. Kumar pointed out that instilling good habits in childhood can empower children to advocate for positive behaviors, such as proper handwashing practices, within their communities.
