Vodafone Fiji Bati player Maika Sivo has received permission from the Parramatta Eels to pursue new opportunities in his career. The 31-year-old winger is actively seeking a new club, with his manager in discussions with several international teams.
Sivo confirmed that conversations are ongoing with the Rhinos, and there is growing speculation about a potential move to the Super League, which would see him reunite with former coach Brad Arthur.
Despite these developments, Sivo expresses deep affection for the Eels, referring to the club as his second home. He has committed to not playing against the Eels out of respect for the organization that has supported him and his family throughout his career.
“I will always cherish that place from the bottom of my heart, especially since my children were born there. The Eels are central to my entire football journey, and I will always have fond memories there,” Sivo said.
Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill acknowledged Sivo’s significant contributions to the club and wished him the best in his future pursuits. O’Neill affirmed that Sivo will always be part of the Eels family.
While navigating this transition, Sivo remains dedicated to representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the upcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship where they will face the Cook Island Aitu. The match is scheduled for tomorrow at HFC Bank Stadium, kicking off at 8:10 PM.
