The Kaiviti Silktails have entered into a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, marking a new chapter in their football programs. This collaboration will replace the Silktails’ previous four-year relationship with the Sydney Roosters.
Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its many benefits. He praised the impressive performance of the Bulldogs’ NRL team this year, which has garnered the admiration of Rugby League fans. Civoniceva acknowledged the efforts of Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan in developing their Pathways Program, emphasizing the importance of aligning with a solid program.
He also took a moment to thank the Sydney Roosters for their collaboration over the past four years, particularly acknowledging Daniel Anderson, and wished them success in the future.
Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould, spoke from Suva to discuss the partnership with the Silktails. He noted the Bulldogs’ increasing commitment to rugby league in Fiji, particularly following the recruitment of Viliame Kikau. Gould mentioned the creation of “The Kikau Academy” in Fiji and events where their Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams played in Fiji, reinforcing their dedication to the sport in the region. This partnership with the Silktails is viewed as a further extension of their commitment to rugby league in Fiji.
