The Kaiviti Silktails have entered into a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This collaboration will integrate the Bulldogs and Silktails football programs over the next three seasons, marking the end of a four-year association with the Sydney Roosters.
Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, “Our club is so excited to be partnering with the Bulldogs, and there were just so many reasons why this deal made sense for us.” He highlighted the impressive performance of the Bulldogs’ NRL team this year, which has resonated with Rugby League fans. Civoniceva emphasized the strong foundation laid by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan through their Pathways Program, which aligns well with their goals.
He also took a moment to acknowledge the Sydney Roosters for the past four years, particularly thanking Daniel Anderson and wishing them the best for the future.
From Suva, Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould, commented on the partnership, noting the Bulldogs’ increasing investment in Fijian rugby over the last two seasons, particularly following the addition of Viliame Kikau to the team. He mentioned the establishment of “The Kikau Academy” in Fiji and the participation of their Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams in Fiji three times in the past year to bolster this commitment.
Gould stated, “Partnering now with the Silktails is an extension of our commitment to Rugby League in Fiji.”
