Silktails Score New Alliance with Bulldogs: What’s Next?

The Kaiviti Silktails have entered into a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, marking a new alignment in their football programs. This agreement concludes the teams’ four-year association with the Sydney Roosters.

Petero Civoniceva, chairman of the Kaiviti Silktails, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Our club is so excited to be partnering with the Bulldogs and there were just so many reasons why this deal made sense for us.” He praised the impressive performance of the Bulldogs’ NRL team over the past year, highlighting the efforts of Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan in developing a successful Pathways Program. Civoniceva emphasized the importance of collaborating with a robust program.

He also took a moment to thank the Sydney Roosters and expressed best wishes for their future endeavors.

From Suva, Gould, the Bulldogs’ GM of Football, commented on the partnership, noting the club’s growing commitment to the sport in Fiji, particularly following the acquisition of player Viliame Kikau. He mentioned the establishment of ‘The Kikau Academy’ in Fiji and revealed that the Bulldogs’ Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams have played in Fiji multiple times in the past year to bolster this effort. “Partnering now with the Silktails is an extension of our commitment to Rugby League in Fiji,” Gould added.
