The Kaiviti Silktails have officially entered into a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This collaboration marks a new chapter for the Silktails, ending their previous four-year alliance with the Sydney Roosters.
Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, highlighting several compelling reasons for the agreement. He noted, “Watching the rise of their NRL team this year was something that won the hearts of all Rugby League fans.”
Civoniceva acknowledged the Bulldogs’ successful Pathways Program overseen by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan, emphasizing the importance of aligning the Silktails with a robust program. He also took a moment to thank the Sydney Roosters for their past collaboration, particularly recognizing Daniel Anderson, and wished them well for the future.
Speaking from Suva to discuss the Silktails partnership, Bulldogs General Manager of Football Phil Gould commented on the Bulldogs’ commitment to Fiji, particularly following the addition of Viliame Kikau to their squad. He stated, “Since then, we have established ‘The Kikau Academy’ in Fiji and our Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams have played in Fiji three times in the last twelve months to help promote this. Partnering now with the Silktails is an extension of our commitment to Rugby League in Fiji.”
