The Kaiviti Silktails have formed a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This new agreement aligns the Bulldogs with the Silktails Football Program for the upcoming three seasons, concluding their previous four-year collaboration with the Sydney Roosters.
Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, citing several reasons why it is beneficial for the club. He noted the impressive performance of the Bulldogs’ NRL team this year, which has gained the admiration of rugby league fans. Civoniceva emphasized that the success of the Bulldogs’ NRL team is attributed to the effective Pathways Program implemented by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan. He believes that aligning with such a robust program is crucial for the Silktails’ development.
Civoniceva also took a moment to thank the Sydney Roosters for their four years of cooperation, particularly recognizing Daniel Anderson, and wished them well for the future.
In Suva, Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould spoke about the significance of the partnership with the Silktails. He highlighted the Bulldogs’ increased engagement in Fiji over the last couple of seasons, particularly following Viliame Kikau’s arrival at the club. Gould mentioned the establishment of ‘The Kikau Academy’ in Fiji and noted that the Bulldogs’ Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams have visited Fiji three times in the past year to enhance their presence in the region. He stated that partnering with the Silktails is a further extension of their commitment to promoting rugby league in Fiji.
