A 17-year-old boy is among 26 individuals charged last month by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions with serious sexual offenses. He faces charges related to the rape and indecent assault of a 15-year-old girl.
In total, the 26 individuals are facing 70 counts of sexual offenses, which include 46 counts of rape, three counts of attempted rape, two counts of abduction with intent to commit rape, five counts of indecent assault, and 14 counts of sexual assault.
The list of victims includes 24 individuals, with 15 being under the age of 18. Among these victims, two are male and 22 are female. Notably, 12 incidents involve situations where the victims and the accused are related.
A 76-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 8-year-old granddaughter, while a 56-year-old man faces three counts of raping his 16-year-old granddaughter. Additionally, a 40-year-old man has been charged with nine counts of raping his 8-year-old daughter.
A 72-year-old man was also charged with two counts of raping his 17-year-old stepdaughter, but this case was discontinued following his death. Furthermore, a 35-year-old man has been charged with one count of rape and five counts of sexual assault involving his 14-year-old stepdaughter. In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man faced two counts of rape against his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
Additional charges include a 56-year-old man charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 13-year-old niece, and a 21-year-old man charged with the rape of his 25-year-old niece. Notably, a 40-year-old man faced multiple charges in connection with the rape and sexual assault of his 17-year-old niece, and a 37-year-old man was charged with three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault of his 16-year-old niece.
There were also charges against an 18-year-old man for the rape of his 11-year-old cousin. In another case, a 68-year-old man faced charges of two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape of a 25-year-old woman, though this matter was discontinued as the complainant could not be located.
Charges against two 18-year-old men and one 20-year-old man include five counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl. Additionally, a 22-year-old man was charged with two counts of abduction with intent to commit rape against a 16-year-old girl with whom he was in a relationship. A 23-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 20-year-old girlfriend, and a 19-year-old man faced charges for both the rape and attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, although this case was also marked as discontinued due to the inability to contact the complainant.
A 53-year-old man was charged with three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one count of sexual assault involving two young men aged 25 and 21. In other incidents, a 32-year-old man faced charges for raping a 20-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old man was charged with raping a 16-year-old girl; however, both cases were discontinued following revelations of false complaints by the victims.
In total, eight cases were discontinued due to insufficient evidence, inability to contact complainants, and false allegations.
