A 17-year-old boy is one of 26 individuals charged last month by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for serious sexual offences. He faces charges of raping and indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
In total, these 26 individuals are charged with 70 counts of various sexual offences. The offences include 46 counts of rape, 3 counts of attempted rape, 2 counts of abduction with intent to commit rape, 5 counts of indecent assault, and 14 counts of sexual assault.
Among the 24 victims, 15 were under the age of 18, with the victims comprising 22 females and 2 males. There were 12 instances in which the victims and the perpetrators were related.
One case involved a 76-year-old man charged with raping his 8-year-old granddaughter, while a 56-year-old man faced three counts of raping his 16-year-old granddaughter. Additionally, a 40-year-old man was charged with nine counts of raping his 8-year-old daughter.
In a separate incident, a 72-year-old man was charged with two counts of raping his 17-year-old stepdaughter, but the case was discontinued following his death. A 35-year-old man was charged with one count of rape and five counts of sexual assault of his 14-year-old stepdaughter, while a 32-year-old man faced two counts of raping his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
A 56-year-old man was charged with two rapes and one sexual assault against his 13-year-old niece, and a 21-year-old man was charged with raping his 25-year-old niece. A 40-year-old man faced multiple charges including two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault involving his 17-year-old niece, while a 37-year-old man was charged with three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault against his 16-year-old niece.
In one case, a 31-year-old man was charged with raping his 29-year-old wife, but this case was discontinued after the complainant admitted to fabricating the accusation. An 18-year-old man was also charged with raping his 11-year-old cousin.
A 68-year-old man faced two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape of a 25-year-old woman; however, this case was discontinued as the complainant could not be reached or located.
Furthermore, two 18-year-old men and one 20-year-old man were charged with multiple counts, including five counts of rape, concerning a 16-year-old girl. A 22-year-old man was charged with two counts of abduction with the intent to commit rape of a 16-year-old girl, with whom he was in a relationship at the time.
There was also a case where a 23-year-old man was charged with raping his 20-year-old girlfriend, and a 19-year-old man was charged with both rape and attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. This case was also discontinued after the complainant was unreachable.
Lastly, a 53-year-old man was charged with three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one count of sexual assault against two males aged 25 and 21. Additionally, a 32-year-old man faced charges for the rape of a 20-year-old woman, while a 29-year-old man was charged with raping a 16-year-old girl; both of these cases were discontinued after the victims retracted their accusations.
Eight cases were closed after being discontinued due to insufficient evidence, the inability to contact victims, or false complaints.
