Ladies and gentlemen, grab your umbrellas because we’ve got a downpour coming that even the ducks are excited about! A heavy rain warning is in effect for the entire delightful bundle of islands known as Fiji. If you need more details, you can check out the mystical world of weather wisdom at

Now, hold on to your raincoats because there’s also a flash flood warning in place for those trouble-prone low-lying areas and small streams. This includes spots like Naitasiri Province, Coastal Serua-Namosi, and the lovely Navua-Lami-Suva-Nausori. We’re also sharing the flood love with parts of Vanua Levu, including the Labasa-Nadogo district and Coastal Vaturova and Saqani areas. Somebody grab a kayak!
But wait, there’s more! A flash flood alert has been issued for other low-lying and otherwise visualized flood-friendly areas for the rest of our sun-kissed paradise. More details available at

What’s causing all this waterworks? A sassy little trough of low pressure is making its way through the Fiji group, promising to bring clouds and rain for the next few days. In the meantime, we’ve got a lovely north to northeasterly wind flow ensuring that your laundry doesn’t get a chance to dry out.
As for the forecast until midnight tomorrow, expect a symphony of rain with heavy performances and occasional thunder that will knock your socks off and possibly your hat too. Localized heavy falls might turn some lowlands into mini rivers, so grab that inflatable boat you’ve been saving for a rainy day.
The weather isn’t going to give us a break on Thursday either: we’re looking at more occasions of rain, with heavy performances scheduled especially over the Yasawa group and parts of Viti Levu. Afternoon thunderstorms are on the menu for most regions, with some of us in for isolated heavy falls that might lead to more flash flood fun.
Here’s a quick rundown for your area:
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: A regular dose of rain, heavy at times, so please bring your best swimwear!
For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Splashes of rain are on the agenda, paired with thrilling thunderstorms, perfect for an indoor movie marathon.
For Tavua/Rakiraki: You guessed it – rainy with a thunderstorm on the side.
For Yasawa/Mamanuca: Expect rain, heavy at times, you might just need a lifeboat!
For the rest of the gang including Labasa, Savusavu, Lau and Lomaiviti, and Kadavu: You’re not escaping either – rain is in the forecast, heavy and then some.
Now for our friends on Rotuma, the winds continue to be gentle as a lullaby, but it looks like you will also get your share of sudden rain and untimely thunderstorms. Get your rain dance ready!
In summary, don’t leave home without your umbrella (and maybe a life jacket)! Stay safe and dry out there, folks!
