A warning for heavy rain is currently in effect for Viti Levu, the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands, including Moala and the Southern Lau Group. Additionally, a flash flood alert has been issued for all low-lying areas and regions prone to flash flooding in Viti Levu.
The Nadi Weather Office reported that a trough of low pressure situated just south of the group is causing significant cloud cover and impacting most areas of the country. Another active trough of low pressure, along with associated clouds and rainfall, is anticipated to affect the region starting tonight. Residents are cautioned that localized heavy rain could result in flash flooding in low-lying locations.
