The Serevi Academy of Rugby is proud to announce its inaugural rugby camp in Fiji for the year 2025, taking place today at Lawaqa Park. This camp marks a significant milestone in the academy’s ongoing mission to empower the youth of Fiji through sports and rugby training.
Waisale Serevi, a prominent figure in the rugby world, shared details of the event on his Facebook page. The camp features two structured training sessions aimed at developing rugby skills, discipline, and teamwork among young athletes. The first session is scheduled from 9 AM to 11 AM for girls aged U16 to U18, while the second session follows in the afternoon from 1 PM to 4 PM for boys in the same age bracket.
One of the standout aspects of this camp is that it’s free for participants, giving local youth the invaluable opportunity to learn from experienced coaches and improve their athletic skills. Expressing his gratitude, Serevi noted, “I’m so grateful to God for the chance to run my first-ever Serevi Academy of Rugby camp in Fiji. It’s a true honor to give back to the youth here and to help them grow both as athletes and individuals.”
In addition to honing their rugby talents, the camp emphasizes a strong message of resilience and drug prevention, underpinned by the theme “Phil4:13 STAY STRONG – SAY NO TO DRUGS.” This initiative aims to inspire participants not only in sports but in life, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and strength.
The academy extends its appreciation to the Fiji Sports Council for providing the necessary facilities and the support of Aqua Pacific, its partner for this endeavor. Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children in the camp are encouraged to contact Aseri Tuitubou at 9034496 or Jo Rokomarawa at 9418391 for more details.
This event not only fosters sporting excellence but is also a positive step towards building a brighter future for Fiji’s youth, encouraging them to engage in constructive activities while learning essential life lessons along the way. The focus on nurturing young talent and promoting health and resilience is a hopeful vision for aspiring athletes in the region, paving a pathway to success both on and off the field.
