“Seema: A Powerful Call to End Domestic Violence”

Seema, a film directed by Sabrina Khan, a British-born Fiji and international human rights lawyer, aims to highlight important social issues and inspire meaningful change. The film draws its motivation from the biblical call to action found in Proverbs 31:8, which encourages individuals to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Seema explores the intricate realities of domestic violence, a subject that is deeply personal for Ms. Khan, who is a survivor of such abuse. The film serves as a compelling platform to raise awareness about the grave issue of domestic violence, illustrating its effects and emphasizing the alarming statistics associated with it.

“Domestic violence statistics for women have worsened. I believe we cannot create enough awareness as the situation is escalating globally,” stated Ms. Khan. She hopes that the film will initiate essential conversations, broaden awareness on a worldwide scale, and aid in breaking the cycle of violence.

Set in Parramatta, Sydney, Australia, Seema features lead actress Reena Shah alongside Australian actor Morrison James.
