“Seema: A Powerful Call to Action Against Domestic Violence”

Seema is a film created by British-born, Fijian international human rights lawyer Sabrina Khan, aiming to highlight critical social issues and foster change. Inspired by the biblical verse in Proverbs 31:8, which calls for advocacy on behalf of the voiceless, the film explores the challenging reality of domestic violence.

For Ms. Khan, who is a survivor of domestic violence herself, this film is a deeply personal endeavor that seeks to raise awareness about this pressing issue. It portrays the significant effects of domestic violence, emphasizing the alarming statistics surrounding the crisis.

“Domestic violence statistics have worsened for women. I feel we can’t raise enough awareness because the situation is deteriorating globally,” remarked Ms. Khan. She hopes that the film will initiate important discussions, enhance global awareness, and aid in breaking the cycle of violence.

Filmed in Parramatta, Sydney, Australia, Seema features lead actress Reena Shah alongside Australian actor Morrison James.
