Scouts Unite for Empowerment at National Jamboree 2024!

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has encouraged all scouts in Fiji to actively contribute to promoting gender equality across all programs and to assist vulnerable groups, especially the elderly. This message was delivered during the opening of the National Scout Jamboree 2024 held at Lawaqa Park, which gathered over 2,200 scouts, leaders, and volunteers.

During his speech, President Katonivere emphasized that scout jamborees serve as a platform for fostering friendships while allowing scouts to showcase their skills in various areas including cooking, cleaning, knot tying, and hiking. He praised the dedication of scout leaders, many of whom are educators, for their ongoing support and mentorship.

He acknowledged the significant commitment required for scouts, stating, “Although it is a significant sacrifice, as scouts, we have pledged to work toward this goal in order to help our youth develop into good citizens in the future.”
