Arnold Schwarzenegger, the renowned Austrian-American actor, recently shared insights into his experience filming a tango scene with Carrie-Anne Moss for the second season of the Netflix series “Fubar.” Speaking to reporters, Schwarzenegger acknowledged the extensive practice required to perfect their choreography, humorously noting that he needed more preparation than Moss.
“We practiced. We practiced a lot, and she didn’t need as much practice as I did, but I really practiced,” he admitted, reflecting on the dedication he put into the dance scene. The actor recalled their first take, where they impressed the crew with their readiness, leading many to believe they were merely rehearsing rather than performing.
“Fubar,” which premiered its second season last Thursday, follows CIA operatives Luke Brunner, played by Schwarzenegger, and his daughter Emma, portrayed by Monica Barbaro. The storyline takes a twist as Brunner confronts his ex-lover, Greta Nelson, played by Moss, who is a former East German spy. Their interactions escalate into both a tango and a tussling match.
Moss highlighted the close bond that developed between her and Schwarzenegger during filming, as most of her scenes were with him. Adding a comedic touch, Schwarzenegger mentioned Moss’s quirky habit of using “secret oil”—specifically peppermint oil—before shooting to get into the right mindset for their scenes, which he jokingly referred to as giving her “magic power.”
The positive energy surrounding the collaboration between the two actors not only illustrates the entertaining nature of “Fubar” but also their genuine friendship that bloomed on set. With comedic elements intertwined with action, the series continues to engage fans in a light-hearted yet thrilling manner.
Schwarzenegger’s willingness to embrace challenges, such as mastering tango for the show, exemplifies his enduring commitment to his craft, offering a hopeful message of growth and adaptability in the entertainment industry.
