Spread the love

Seven schools in Labasa were reportedly broken into before the second term break. Initial reports indicate that money and snacks were stolen from all affected schools.

Assistant Education Minister Iliesa Vanawalu emphasized that the safety of schools is a responsibility that the school committee must address. In an interview, he suggested that committees consider hiring watchmen or security guards to ensure student safety.

“It’s a learning area for all students. The welfare of the school is supposed to be a paramount goal of schools in Fiji,” he stated. Mr. Vanawalu underscored that the primary concern should be the safety of the students.
