Allegations of rape have emerged in connection with the Miss Universe Fiji 2024 pageant, occurring shortly after a runner-up expressed dissatisfaction with the selection of Manshika Prasad as the winner. The pageant is facing significant issues, including the resignation of judges, unpaid bills, and disputes regarding the crown, overshadowing its anticipated return.
As questions arise about the rightful titleholder of Miss Universe Fiji 2024, police are currently investigating allegations of rape tied to an after-party that took place on the night of the crowning at Pacific Harbour. This situation adds to the ongoing controversy surrounding the event, which was held at The Pearl South Pacific Resort. Following the invitation-only event in Deuba two weeks ago, Miss Universe Fiji has dismissed its judging panel and has not yet cleared its debts to service providers.
