The Fiji Police Mpaisa task force has arrested a 30-year-old man from Bulileka, Labasa, on charges of obtaining financial advantage by deception. The suspect allegedly deceived a victim on March 25, 2024, into transferring $250 through a mobile money transfer app. It is claimed that he tricked the victim into buying kava for that amount but then failed to deliver the product after receiving the payment. He faces one count of obtaining financial advantage and is scheduled to appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today.
