Savusavu’s New Development: A Boon for Jobs and Economy!

A new commercial lot spanning 1.14 hectares has been launched in Qaraniqatio, Savusavu, which is expected to create approximately 100 job opportunities for local residents.

Filimoni Vosarogo, the Minister for Land and Mineral Resources, highlighted that this development would transform the town into a more prominent destination. He noted, “Many people will want to come here and experience the hospitality of the Tui Nasavusavu and his community.”

The minister emphasized that this initiative signifies economic growth and enhances the overall economic environment in the area. He mentioned that there are 11 commercial lots on the 1.14-hectare state land, which will include ample parking facilities.

Sanya Dayal, director of Land Planning, Surveying and Engineering Consultants Fiji, remarked that this occasion marks an important progression for both the community and the economy. She stated that the ministry’s partnership has facilitated all necessary feasibility studies to align with sustainable development goals, paving the way for a flourishing commercial hub in the future.

Dayal also noted that the second phase of the project will focus on improvements to the EFL grid, water supply, and road access for the commercial lots.
