Rugby’s Bright Future: Fiji and Australia Coaches Push for More Matches

After securing noteworthy wins against the Australian Schoolboys, Vodafone Fiji Schoolboys head coach Peniona Ranitu expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the series next year. Under the leadership of captain Samuela Tuidraki (Jnr), the Fijian team achieved a 34-25 victory at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Australian Schoolboys assistant coach Michael Crank shared similar feelings, highlighting the importance of establishing a home-and-away series to bolster rugby in the Pacific region. He acknowledged that while the Australian team faced tough conditions, they acquired valuable experience from the matches.

Both coaches are dedicated to promoting rugby development in the area and are eager for future encounters that will enhance competition and collaboration between the teams. In a previous match on Saturday, the Fijian squad claimed a 26-14 victory, marking Fiji’s first win against Australia at the under-18 level.
