The Under-15 rugby team from Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) honored the memory of their No.8 Senitiki Kuruvakadua’s late father by securing a 22-7 victory over Gospel High School (GHS) in the semi-finals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy.
In a statement to SUNsports on Saturday, MBHS U15 head coach Jone Temo attributed the win to divine intervention. He emphasized the importance of improving line speed and defense at halftime, especially against a formidable opponent like Gospel High School.
Looking ahead to the finals, Temo noted that the team would also concentrate on strength and conditioning in preparation for their upcoming match against Suva Grammar School. He expressed confidence in the fitness of his players, many of whom are athletes, despite some minor injuries, and remains hopeful they will be ready for the final.
